Evolving Skies price guide: Moonbreon, Rayquaza and the alt arts

Moonbreon sells for about £1,271 raw in the UK, and a sealed Evolving Skies booster box for over £2,000. Here's what every big Evolving Skies card really sells for.

Evolving Skies is the expensive one. One of every card in the set adds up to about £5,500 raw, and most of that is a handful of alternate art cards.

Moonbreon

The Umbreon VMAX alternate art (215/203), the card collectors call Moonbreon, sells for about £1,271 raw in the UK. That's the middle of 10 UK sales.

Across Europe and the US the same card is around £1,500, and last week's Cardmarket sales ran about 27% above their 30-day average, so prices there have been climbing. When we wrote this, we didn't call it a Sell zone because the UK sales hadn't moved the same way. Today: Moonbreon is selling about where it usually does right now, so it's neither in our Buy zone nor our Sell zone.

The rest of the alt arts

Card UK price (raw) UK sales
Umbreon VMAX 215/203 (Moonbreon) £1,271 10
Rayquaza VMAX 218/203 £752 6
Sylveon VMAX 212/203 £250 7
Leafeon VMAX 205/203 £219 6
Glaceon VMAX 209/203 £185 4

The Rayquaza VMAX alt is the other grail here, at around £750.

The V alternate arts are worth knowing about too. We don't have enough UK sales on most of them yet, so these are European and US prices in pounds:

When we wrote this on 19 October, the Rayquaza V and Espeon V were both in our Sell zone, selling 18 to 20% over their usual price. Where they are today:

  • Rayquaza V 194 is in our Sell zone right now: it's selling above its own usual price.
  • Espeon V 180 is in our Sell zone right now: it's selling above its own usual price.

Zones describe the price, not a promise about where it goes next.

Sealed

A sealed Evolving Skies booster box sells for about £2,050 in the UK, from 12 sales. At that price it's a collectible in its own right.

How we price these cards

UK prices are the middle of real eBay UK sold listings, cleaned of fakes, lots, graded copies and other languages. Where UK sales are thin we use Cardmarket and TCGplayer, converted to pounds each morning. The card pages always have today's numbers.
